No cell signal in the reserve. Waterfall can dry up to a trickle in late summer (February–April) — check recent conditions before visiting if the waterfall is your primary goal.

  • Waterfall is best after winter rain — can dry to a trickle in late summer.

If you need help

Short trail but isolated. No signal means no emergency communication. Standard reserve advice: hike in groups of four or more. Silvermine was burnt in the major April 2025 wildfire — most paths reopened by late 2025. Confirm trail status with SANParks.

Cell reception

No signal. Silvermine has no cell coverage.
