Pipe Track
Several ravine turnoffs along the Pipe Track are marked as dangerous ascents — do not attempt them. Slangholie Ravine in particular has a hazard sign. Stick to the main Pipe Track path.
Know before you go
A spectacular, mostly flat walk along the lower slopes of the Twelve Apostles with constant Atlantic Ocean views. Popular for trail running, morning walks, and as an access route to Kasteelspoort and Corridor Ravine. Dogs not permitted in the national park section.
Rescue history
Most incidents on this route involve hikers who leave the Pipe Track to attempt unmarked or dangerous ravines. The track itself is well-maintained and low-risk.
Good for most of the route.
The Pipe Track is an exit route in itself — it returns to Kloof Nek at one end and Oudekraal at the other.
