Cape Point
Farmer's Cliffs Trail
An isolated and remote trail within Cape Point. This is genuine wilderness — there are no facilities and rescue response times are significantly longer than on Table Mountain. Do not hike alone.
Know before you go
One of the most dramatic and least-visited routes at Cape Point — stunning cliff views over the Atlantic, with good whale-watching potential between June and November. SANParks entry fee required. Start early to allow for the return journey before the park closes.
Rescue history
Very low rescue frequency but high consequence if an incident occurs. The remote location means WSAR ground response can take several hours. A helicopter is the most likely rescue option if deployed.
Spotty. Signal is weak in the valley sections.
Return to the Cape Point parking area along the same route.
Cape Point parking (inside the Cape Point section of Table Mountain NP — SANParks entry fee applies)
