The summit is open and fully exposed to wind — conditions deteriorate rapidly when the SE blows. The upper path involves loose shale that is slippery when wet.

Know before you go

  • One of the southern peninsula's best-kept secrets — views over False Bay and Simon's Town on a clear day.
  • Far quieter than Table Mountain on weekends.
  • Route passes through beautiful coastal fynbos.

If you need help

A quieter route with lower rescue call-out frequency. The area is more remote than central Table Mountain routes — allow extra time and do not rely on help arriving quickly.

Emergency exit

Return the way you came. The residential suburb of Glencairn Heights is at the base of the trail.

Cell reception

Spotty. Variable coverage throughout.
