Orange Kloof within this area is a restricted wilderness zone requiring a SANParks permit. Do not enter Orange Kloof without a valid permit — access is enforced.
Know before you go
A quieter access point to the Back Table compared to the northern face routes. The Overseer's Cottage and historic reservoirs are points of interest along the upper jeep track. Orange Kloof permits are available from SANParks in advance.
Rescue history
The Constantia Nek jeep track leads to the Back Table and is a common access route for longer expeditions. Hikers who continue beyond the dams into the Back Table have become lost in mist.
Good at the start. Spotty in the upper ravines.
Return down the jeep track to Constantia Nek. The paved road is always accessible from the parking area.
